Subversive Semiotician

Why have a boring academic portfolio when you can have a criminal case file? This is a personal site I designed for Dr. Peter Andrew Mantello. Because his research explores the militarization of play, aestheticization of violence, and algorithmic policing, we decided to move away from the standard CV and make it into a classified record as the “Semiotic Operative”. By framing his profile as a “Ministry for State Security” file, the design invites the reader to interrogate the subject’s history, rather than just passively reading a list of accomplishments. It’s always a fun challenge to break the rules of traditional design, to create a more immersive and critical way of storytelling.
